It happens regularly that something falls out of an overhead cupboard during a trip and lands on the tabletop. The result: a dent, a tear, or even a hole. In the leisure industry, we call this a book dent!
Camper and caravan tables often feature a lightweight construction with a cardboard honeycomb core, similar to the construction of an interior door. This keeps the weight down, but also makes the tabletop vulnerable to damage.
Replacing a tabletop is often expensive. Moreover, delivery times can be long, or an original tabletop may no longer be available at all.

The repair process:

Cleaning and degreasing
The tabletop is carefully cleaned and degreased. -
Structural repair

The damage, dent, or crack is injected with two-component epoxy resin, where necessary up to the underside of the sheet. This creates sufficient support and a bearing surface for the new top layer.

Leveling and sanding
After the structural repair, the surface is leveled with two-component polyester filler. Next, detection spray is applied, which makes irregularities, such as pits and bumps, visible during sanding. This process is repeated several times if necessary until the surface is completely flat and smooth. -
Applying the new top layer
The tabletop is degreased again and provided with the chosen top layer. This is then precisely cut to size along the outer edge of the top. -

A structurally restored tabletop or furniture part with a new, sleek finish that looks like new again.
